The Morenci Fall Fest will take place Friday, Oct. 14 from 5 to 11 p.m. in downtown Morenci. It will feature live music, food specials, movies, and crafts for everyone in the family.
Lining Main Street from 5 to 7 p.m. will be fun family-friendly activities including photos booths, face painting, a petting zoo, a caricature artist, and a hayride, all free of charge. There will also be a live wood carver, local merchants, and non-profit organizations with fun fall activities for kids.
The excitement begins at 5 p.m. with an art reveal at Alley 221. Following the art reveal, the first of three outdoor concerts will begin, featuring Genevieve Rose at Alley 221 as the backdrop to the vendor fair. Main street will re-open soon after 7 p.m., but the family events continue with the Rex Theater showcasing the first of two movies being played during the event, Scooby Doo 2, Monsters Released. rated PG. The Rex will follow this up with another show, Conjuring 3: The Devil Made Me Do It, a rated R horror film at 9:30 p.m.
During the entire event there will be grab and go menu specials at local restaurants; entrees and desserts that are only available for the Fall Fest. The Flats Pub, Morenci Eagles, Pizza Box, Morenci Deli and The Dairy Depot will all be participating.
The outdoor concert series continues after the vendor fair at 7 p.m. with a live performance behind the Morenci Eagles, featuring the band, No Diving. The group won the 2022 River Raisin Festival Battle of the Bands. The final act begins at 9 p.m. behind Flats Pub, featuring local musicians, Erik Skampo and Chase VanBrandt.
