Boil Water Advisory

The City of Morenci has issued a boil water advisory until further notice for 211, 213, 219, 225, 231, and 235 W. Main Street, including any residences located above these addresses.

The advisory was issued following a loss of water pressure caused by a waterline break on Baker Street on August 24, 2026. The Department of Public Works is working to restore pressure and complete necessary flushing and testing of the water system.

Residents and businesses at the impacted addresses should not drink the water without boiling it first. Bring water to a boil, allow it to boil for one minute, and let it cool before using. Boiled or bottled water should be used for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes, and preparing food.

Bacteriological samples will be collected to confirm the water meets state drinking water standards before the advisory is lifted. The City anticipates resolving the issue by Wednesday, August 26; however, the boil water advisory will remain in effect until testing confirms the water is safe to drink. Customers will be notified when the advisory has been lifted.
