The City of Morenci’s draft Master Plan is now available for public review.
The Master Plan serves as a long-term guide for the future growth and development of the City of Morenci. It addresses topics such as housing, land use, transportation, downtown and economic development, parks and recreation, community facilities, and other priorities identified through the planning process. The plan will help guide City decisions, policies, and investments over the coming years.
Morenci City Council approved the draft Master Plan for the required 63-day public review period on August 10, 2026. Members of the public are invited to review the plan and share comments, suggestions, or questions during the review period, which runs through October 12, 2026.

Printed copies of the draft plan are also available for review at Morenci City Hall and Stair District Library.
Comments may be submitted to Dana Hawthorne of Beckett & Raeder, Inc., the City’s planning consultant for the Master Plan process.

Following the public review period, the Morenci Planning Commission will hold a public hearing on Thursday, October 22, 2026, at which time the Planning Commission will consider adoption of the Master Plan.
Community input is an important part of the planning process, and residents, business owners, property owners, and other interested members of the community are encouraged to review the draft and provide feedback.
