Community members are invited to attend a Veterans Memorial Monument Dedication on Saturday, July 4, at 1:00 p.m. at Oak Grove Cemetery.
The event, organized by Kent Deatrick, will commemorate the dedication of a new Veterans Memorial Monument while also recognizing the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.
The program will include a military ceremony conducted by the Morenci American Legion, featuring the singing of the National Anthem, a reading of the Declaration of Independence, a 21-gun salute, and the playing of Taps. A dedication address will be presented on behalf of the Robert and Betty Deatrick Scholarship Fund, and elected officials and community leaders, including Mayor Tracy Schell, will offer brief remarks honoring veterans and celebrating 250 years of American freedom.
The public is welcome to attend and join in this special day of remembrance, gratitude, and patriotism.
