As the City of Morenci hosts special events in the downtown district, we would like to make residents and visitors aware of traffic detours that will be in place to ensure pedestrian safety and a positive experience for all attendees.
A full detour will be in effect on the following dates, covering the entire downtown district, including full closure of Main Street (from Summit Street to Baker Street) and North Street (from Main Street to Locust Street) closed to thru traffic.
Detour will be active from 2 p.m. until midnight on:
Friday, June 12
Friday, July 10
Friday, August 14

To Eastbound Main Street: Southbound traffic on North Street will be routed east on W. Congress Street, then south on N. Summit Street to reach Main Street.
To Westbound Main Street: Traffic will detour west on W. Congress Street, then south on Mill Street to access Main Street.
To North Street from Main Street: Drivers will be directed north via N. Summit Street or Mill Street.
Truck traffic will be routed using N. East Street and Coomer Street as an M156 detour.
