The Morenci Police Department is alerting residents to a recent scam affecting members of our community. Some residents have received unsolicited text messages claiming to be from the Michigan Secretary of State. These messages attempt to pressure recipients into paying for an alleged traffic violation. These messages are not legitimate.
Residents are strongly advised not to click any links or provide personal information in response. If you receive a suspicious message, delete it immediately.
