Burn permits are available at City Hall and are required for open burning outside Morenci city limits. Chesterfield Township residents are prohibited from burning during the months of March, April, and May, and during the hours of 6:00 a.m. through 6:00 p.m. year round. There is no open burning permitted after dusk in Seneca and Medina Townships.
No open burning of brush or yard waste is permitted in the City of Morenci. Small cooking fires in approved, contained burn rings are acceptable.
Burning of building materials and tires is not permitted in all areas.
Burn permits are valid for three days. Visit or call Morenci City Hall 8:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday to obtain a burning permit. You may also send an email to Deputy Clerk, Ashley Ables, at ashley.ables@cityofmorenci.org to request a burn permit.
