Morenci resident, Traci Bovee, is organizing a Community Thanksgiving meal for Morenci and surrounding communities for the eleventh year in a row this year. The dinner will take place on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 23, from noon until 3 p.m. (or when food runs out). Dine-in or carry-out is available at the Morenci Sportsman’s Club and the Lyons Friendship Hall. Delivery is available for homebound residents. There is no charge, but a freewill donation will be accepted from those able to help offset costs.

Traci is in need of volunteers to help with meal preparation beginning on Tuesday, November 21, and with set-up, serving, delivery, and clean-up on Thanksgiving Day.

Turkeys
20 turkey bags
12 hams
Potatoes
Large cans yams
15 bags cranberries
20+ cans chicken broth
6 #10 cans corn or 6 cases of small cans
6 #10 cans green beans or 6 cases of small cans
2 cases family size cream of mushroom soup
6 bags of cooking onions
2 bottles of sage
30 loaves of bread
3 restaurant size Miracle Whip
6 large bags of sugar
4 large bags of French fried onions
15 dozen eggs
10 bunches of celery
2 jugs white vinegar
300 dinner rolls
2 canisters coffee
2 large lemonade concentrate
10-12 heads of cabbage
5 bags of carrots
6 heads of cauliflower
6 heads of broccoli
15 bags cherry tomatoes
20 cucumbers
Dill dip
Ranch dressing
Bag of all-purpose flour
Salt & pepper
Corn starch
30 disposable deep tin pans
1 gallon boxes of freezer bags
Homemade desserts: pies, sheet cakes, brownies, cupcakes
