The City of Morenci's Summer Recreation Program is returning after a three-year hiatus. The program will provide six weeks of fun-filled activities for children between the ages of 5 and 11. Running every Tuesday and Thursday, from July 11 to August 17, rain or shine, this program guarantees a memorable summer for local kids.

To participate in Summer Rec, a one-time registration fee of $30 per child is required. The registration fee will be utilized for park activities and field trips, ensuring that every child has access to an array of engaging experiences throughout the summer.

Program coordinator, Laurie Schisler, has planned a variety of activities that cater to participants' interests. Science experiment day, safety day, and department of public works day are just a few of the exciting theme days planned, promising a mix of knowledge, creativity, and hands-on experiences. Additionally, field trips to local attractions, including the Rex Theatre, Wauseon pool, and the Morenci Senior Center, are being organized to provide children with enriching off-site experiences.

The City of Morenci is excited to bring back this popular summer program and is committed to providing a safe and enjoyable experience for all participants. The Summer Recreation Program offers an ideal opportunity for children to make new friends, learn new skills, and create lasting memories in a supportive and engaging environment.
