Garbage & Recycling

Garbage Truck

The City of Morenci has partnered with Modern Waste Systems, Inc for our garbage pick-up needs.

Garbage is picked up once a week on Wednesday.
A city-wide large trash pickup day is scheduled the fourth weekend in July each summer.

Modern Waste Systems does not run on the following holidays:

  • New Year's Day

  • Memorial Day

  • 4th of July

  • Labor Day

  • Thanksgiving

  • Christmas Day

All pickups after the holiday will be delayed one (1) day. All pickups will be caught up by Saturday. If the holiday falls on either a Saturday or Sunday, your pickup day is not affected.

 Residential:
Each household is serviced with (1) 96-gallon container for $14.75, which is charged monthly on the water bill.

Bulky items are not permitted. If you need a bulky item picked up, contact Modern Waste Systems to arrange pick-up. You will be billed by MWS for this service. Occasionally the City of Morenci will have a bulky item dumpster available at DPW facility. Notification of this service will be posted on our website, Facebook page, and sent through our text notification system.
