EMS Services
Morenci Area Emergency Medical Service is a Michigan Licensed Advanced Life Support service operated by the City of Morenci in partnership with Medina and Seneca Townships. In addition to proudly serving those entities, we also serve portions of Chesterfield Township in Fulton County Ohio. Morenci Area EMS staffs a Paramedic and Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) twenty four hours a day, seven days a week.
The agency is supervised by a Director and a Paramedic Operational Manager and an EMT Operational Manager. Staffing levels do change, but on average it employs nine paramedics and nine EMTs.
In addition to providing emergency Advanced Life Support services Morenci Area EMS in partnership with Madison Twp Fire/EMS, Hudson Area Ambulance and Addison Fire/EMS, provides emergency and non-emergency hospital transfers to regional facilities from Promedica Hickman Hospital.
There are several different sources that fund the Morenci EMS. A special assessment levied on all commercial and residential properties within the City of Morenci, Seneca, and Medina Townships provide 40% of our budget. Billing for services rendered and contractual agreements with Fulton County in Ohio provides an additional 40% of our budget. The final 20% of our budget is provided by transfers completed in partnership with Madison Twp, Hudson, and Addison.
